I highly recommend reading The Scorpio Races in November (when the story takes place). I love the book and have read it multiple times. It appears to be an anomaly among Maggie Stiefvater’s books. I was so excited to try some of her other books after reading The Scorpio Races; I tried the first book in her two well-known series but DNF one and wasn’t inspired enough to start book two in the other series.

Thanks Kitty! I really love it when you share book recommendations. I LOVE the Between books by WR Gingell and I can’t wait to check out some of these others.
I recommend two detective series by Jasper Fford: the Thursday Next novels and also the two Nursery Crime books. All of them are hilarious, witty, and chocked full of classic literary references.
I also really like When Demons Walk by Patricia Briggs. It features a kick-butt heroine with a fantastic wardrobe and a series of mysterious murders to solve.

Brew yourself a cup of tea, then sit down and read A Quiet Life in the Country by TE Kinsey. It’s a turn of the century murder mystery and you will love the witty banter between Lady Hardcastle and, her maid/bodyguard, Flo. It’s available on KU.

Wow, thanks for taking the time to put this up!! Earlier this October I read Gilt Hollow, an autumn-themed YA novel by Lorie Langdon. The book is set around the week of Halloween, with a sweet story of redemption and best-friends romance. It’s also a pretty intense mystery and it matched the mood for Halloween, so… it was fun!
Thanks again, Kitty! This is list is pretty awesome-looking.

I just read Gilt hollow and it was awesome. I am a willow and Ashton fan now.
So thank you Merie Shen for the brilliant recommendation.
Happy Halloween!!
I have never celebrated it since it isn’t done in my country. Which is really bad, what I wouldn’t give for trick-or-treating….

Haha, I don’t celebrate Halloween either, but that is actually my choice. 🙂 The trick-or-treating thing is cool with me, but I don’t actually count Halloween as a real holiday so… XD

Perfect timing, I finished a KU book last night so I snagged Gilt Hollow to read this week! 😀
I hope you enjoy the other books!
