Absolutely amazing!! I have no worries waiting for the book as long as Angel and Evariste reunite somewhere in the middle! Their separation is tearing me apart ( and I am probably sounding a little too dramatic😅) Anyways so Kitty you please don’t overwork yourself, none of us your wonderful and faithful Champions want you to get sick AGAIN.

Ok… so this has absolutely nothing to do with Angel/Evariste related stuff but i was just reading a past blog post about the next character in the Magiford Series… and someone names McKenna commented that they think the black cat might have something to do with it… so i did some thorough research and the black cat does indeed pop up in a HoB&M Book, one of the short stories (Sincerely, House Medeis) and also in a CoM&D short story (Parents’ Night) when Lelia is talking to Lord Iason. AND!! the original post said that we have seen and heard of the next heroine… so to fulfill the requirements of the info we have IF Pip/Phillipa is a shifter (she said she’s human but not actually a part of the pack) then what if she shifts into that black cat we’ve been seeing…?

Lol idk just a thought.. and also I’m super excited for the release or Trial of Magic!! Also the more, the better.. i mean why not? I love love love Angel and Evariste!! and I really really hope he gets freed this book 😂

Cat girl is the heroine of the 2023 series–the one that will pick up the Paragon’s quest-y-thing.

Pip’s series is a bit of a spin off–it doesn’t deal with the person the Paragon is looking for, but it fills you in a bit on what’s going on with other supernaturals.

Pip is in fact a werewolf hunter.

I know you probably hear this a lot, but your health is not less important than our, at least I hope I speak for all us Champions when I say this, love of your books.

So, I had a little boredom time at work for a bit and I thought I would add up all the reviews Kitty has gotten on all of her books, including the Second Age of Retha books, and all the block set books. All told, as of today (5/25) at 11:02 MDT there are 17,123 reviews on Kitty’s books. The Queen’s Crown had the most at 1,095 reviews and the Timeless Fairy Tales: Books 10-11 had the least at 6. I should noted that the TFT, all combined had 4,311 reviews and of those, Beauty and the Beast had the most at 888. Most books ranged between 200 and 400 reviews. The Hall of Blood and Mercy and the Court of Midnight and Deception books averaged 883 and 889 reviews respectively. The TFT books averaged just under 300 at 287 reviews and the FTE books averaged 471 reviews. Like I said, I had some down time at work. :} I analyze things for my work and, as you can see, numbers like this interest me. I thought some champions might find them interesting too. I think it certainly indicates which books are favorites. 🙂 Though, I have to say, I like all the books Kitty has written!

You guys make me laugh. Normally, auditors are the last person anyone in corporate America wants to talk too.

So I was thinking that my next little KM Shea Book analysis project should be a review of how many of those reviews gave how many stars. Just to see where people who did submit reviews stand on how well they like/dislike the books. See what kind of dull information us analytical types find interesting? I have to have books like Kitty’s to break away from stuff like this and to add color to my life and personality!

Wow, I’m pretty sure I’d give up 5 secs into that. But good luck! 🙂

Just think of it this way: if the book is longer, it will take us longer to read it, so it will be longer before we start nagging you for book five! Haha. In all seriousness, though, thank you for that fun video! I love hearing about what authors’ writing process looks like and that was such a fun way to show it!

I laughed at the blooper reel! I think it’s admirable that you put so much work into your books that you reread all 14 of the timeless fairytale ones! (I must be tough to reread them over and over again though) I was thinking about the hint that some seemingly simple lines from 12 dancing princesses would get their own scene; it will be interesting to see which!

LOVE the video! Gives us an appreciation for all that you do to bring such wonderful books to us! 😀 Thank you for the hard work . . . and we surely don’t mind more words with such terrific characters to have more words about! 😀

The meeting between Research, Editing, and Writing was really funny 😂 (I particularly liked the part where research was tasked with rereading all the TFT books all over again)

More words, more book! I love when books get long-plus i’m going to have something to DO during the summer 😁. So, are you about 1/2, 5/6, etc done? So Excited!! Really sorry about the workload tho. I kinda get it-though i procrastinate rather than facing it. Tip: Write one page, eat one spoon of pudding, or some other delicious food that you love. It only works for me about 75% of the time, but that’s just cause of my laziness. Also, please stay healthy! We care about your well being more than books. Don’t burn yourself out! Thx for the post 🙂

Yes! Please, please, please take care of yourself. And thank you for the update. It’s nice to know where a project is when one is waiting for the final product on pins and needles! And don’t worry about it being longer. More of this story means more to love/enjoy!

This is exciting news! Of course, we don’t mind high word counts when it means MORE STORY! I’ve been reading Snow White to my husband, and we’re about halfway through (we already read the Angelique books, then jumped to 12DP), so we’re ready for the new book soon! 🙂

I just wrote a book that I thought was going to be my shortest yet at 60k. I sent it to my editor for developmental edits, and after it came back and I worked in all of the things she suggested (plus other ideas I had), it went back for final edits at 94k! Oy. So I sympathize at the length even as I’m looking forward to a long, juicy book! 🙂

Excellent! This is exciting news! Stay healthy.

My Angelique Writing Process

Hello, Champions!

I’m still working my way through Angelique’s fourth book (Trial of Magic) and I can safely say that it is going to be quite bit longer then Reign of Magic as it is already past Reign of Magic’s word count and I’m STILL. NOT. FINISHED. YET.

It sometimes feels like I have to put a excessive amounts of energy into projects like this that have so many complex and interwoven plot lines going on. I want to make sure I get everything right, which sometimes means throw-away lines from the Timeless Fairy Tales series get their own dedicated scene in The Fairy Tale Enchantress series. (This happened with a line from Twelve Dancing Princesses.) I was trying to come up with a way to show a bit of my writing process to you, and then I remembered I already did something like this back when I wrote Snow White!

Watch this YouTube video to see the interesting… strange(?) conversations I have with myself!

Youtube New Book Meeting

Considering I made this video in 2018, it’s kind of comical how little things have changed. When you are listening to the video, just subsite “Trial of Magic” every time I say Snow White, and then when the pile of books shows up, mentally add a few more books to the pile to represent Snow White + the three Angelique books. 2018 Research “me” didn’t know how good she had it – I have even more books to deal with now!

Watch until the end of the video to see my bloopers reel!

I hope this made you laugh, Champions! Thanks for watching, and now I’d better get back to the slog…
