Happy Father’s Day, Champions! For those who aren’t from the USA, June 15th, 2025 is the American celebration of Father’s Day–the companion holiday to Mother’s Day–in which father figures are honored.

I am incredibly blessed with a straight-laced but funny dad who, although he is very practical and logical, was incredibly patient and supportive of me as I worked stubbornly towards my goal of being an author. I don’t know if I’ve ever seen him with a fiction book, but he always accepted and supported my passion for writing stories. Although you haven’t met him, all of you have read lines and dialog pieces inspired by my Dad’s wry humor.

In honor of this day I want to remind you of the (dare I call it "charming"?) short story from the Kind Arthur and Her Knights series: Father's Day.

As I mentioned with Mother’s Day, no matter your status–grandparent, parent, child–when you boil it down, Father’s Day is about celebrating love. I hope you enjoy the day and the short story!

Giveaways

Every full week in June I'm offering a giveaway for audiobook promo codes.

The codes only work on Audible.com and Audible.co.uk so you must be able to use one of those websites to be eligible. I’m picking a different audiobook each week to highlight and you can comment on the Facebook group post and/or the Instagram post for that week to enter!

The giveaway each week will open on Monday when the posts goes live and close on Friday so make sure to comment on each week’s post as soon as you see it!

I will not be offering the giveaway via the blog due to the risk of scammers targeting those who leave comments, sorry!

Here's the schedule for each week of the Giveaway:

June 2nd - 6th: Crown of Shadows

June 9th - 13th: Crown of Moonlight

June 16th - 20th: The Queen's Crown

June 23rd - 27th: King Arthur and Her Knights (this is the complete series!)

If you hurry you can still enter the giveaways for this week it before it closes on Friday. Visit the Facebook Group or Instagram

Highlighting My Old BookTube Related Videos

In the past I've posted a variety of book related videos on YouTube (some of them are 6+ years old!). My team gave them a makeover earlier this year with new thumbnails and titles and every week on social media I'm highlighting one of them just for fun!

My personal favorite of these videos is the "Author Behind the Scenes" video where I act out how I plan a new book. I was inspired by all the YouTube channels who act out different personalities of themselves and I really love how it turned out. But! It was SO. MUCH. WORK. for me to film and edit so I never did it again!

But it's pretty hilarious so I recommend you watch it!

Free Fantasy Audiobooks on YouTube

Did you know there are generous authors who have uploaded their full audiobooks to YouTube? Many of them are authors who aren’t in Amazon’s KU program so you might not have heard of them, but this is a great opportunity to try their work for free!

If you go to my YouTube channel I made a list at the bottom of the other fantasy authors I could find that are no-romance or no-spice-romance. Did I miss any authors that you are aware of?

My Free Short Stories on YouTube

Last year I posted a new audio short story to my YouTube channel every Friday in June/July! I'm not doing that this year but I wanted to call out one of these from last year which is "On the Observations of Sir Kay". It's a King Arthur related story and it was Narrated by Nathaniel Priestley, who also narrated the complete series boxset!

If you are curious about the audiobooks and want to try to an extra long sample go and give this video a listen! Or if you already own the King Arthur and Her Knights series audiobook this is an excellent addition to your library!

In honor of Screen-Free week I want to tell you all about the free things I have available that you can do screen-free! Some of them you might have to do some prep work using a device (or print it out ahead of time) but all of them are inspired by my fantasy stories!

Recipes and Crafts from my Pinterest Board:

The heroines in each of my urban fantasy series have their own favorite beverage (and some have snacks too) and this board is packed with yummy examples from each of them! Support your favorite female lead, pick the one that looks the best, or make one from each of them! (I also have a few recipe themed blog posts related to my books!)

This board has everything from super simple (like printable Library Card Valentines or Harry Potter themed Valentine Cards) to book club party games, to ideas for redecorating an entire room. And if you are OK with ripping apart a paperback book there are tons of ideas for how to use the pages for crafts or decorations.

In addition to the standard kid crafts (like a popsicle stick dragon) this board has printable games, and art projects that are fun for all ages (like watercolor silhouettes)!

Printables on My Website:

All of these were created by the wonderful volunteers for past SheaCon events, so they were made by readers for readers! The Cryptograms and Madlibs have multiple versions from different series so even if you haven't read all my books you'll find something you can do!

Did you know have over 20 printable coloring book pages available for free on my website? Most of my series are represented and you can pick from people or animal sidekick images depending on what you're in the mood for.

Inspired by a side character from the Gate of Myth and Power series these fun crossword puzzles were created for past SheaCon events. I've mentioned these several times before but did you know you could print them?!? I didn't! (Until just now, when I checked, lol.)

And, of course, you could also read a physical book if you have some of those on your TBR pile!
