SheaCon 2024: Wrap Up

SheaCon 2024 was last weekend and it's time to share the panel audio recordings!

But first I want to give a big thank you to all the Champions for attending, and for being such an amazing group! All of the panels and activities had great participation. It was so much fun to hang out with, laugh, and celebrate books with everyone, which is what the goal for Sheacon has always been.

Every year I also thank the Sheacon Planners–without them none of this would have happened, and they not only started organizing everything months ago they also have worked hard to make Sheacon smoother/more professional every year. Additionally, they acted as hosts for panels/events/games during Sheacon! They bravely kept up the conversation while running panels, organizing the group games, running the Retha and Dragons (or FATE) sessions, showing us all elf dancer stretches, and more.

Thank you so much to Akira, Anneli, Amanda, Ayrin, Batattack, Bluefires, Chelsea, Cheybri, Cindy, Cwang, Eleniel, Ellie, Emarynn, FrogPrincess994, Gwen, Jordan, Kamashida, Kimberly, LouBerry, Miriel, Prolly, QoP, Rachel, RayJay, RoseTen, Vin, and Zooknar. You guys are the best!

This is also the perfect chance to thank and salute our Chief Sheacon Planner, Cindy. Cindy puts in serious hours organizing the conference–the scheduling she has to figure out months in advance is intense! She’s pretty much a professional chaos wrangler, and I’m so grateful for her.

Finally, I want to thank our Director of Discord, Vin, and the Mod Squad– Smasher, Batattack, Cimorrene, and Rog–for helping all the new members in our discord server who joined so they could attend Sheacon, and our Facebook Mods–Megen, Sarah, and Jocelyn–who kept our community Facebook Group informed in the lead up to Sheacon!

Also, a big thank you to Melanie Cellier, Deborah Grace White, Shari L Tapscott, and Brittany Fichter who were our guest authors this year with a special call out to author Kimberly Rogers who hosted our relationship analysis panel.

2024 SheaCon Goodie Bag

Today is the first day of SheaCon but even if you aren't able to join in all the fun the event has to offer (click here for the schedule) there are tons of fun freebies and goodies for you to enjoy this year!

First off is the free books! I have not one but TWO lists filled with free books for you to find your next great read!

Sweet Fantasy Romance Books - This is a list of free fantasy romance (all subgenres) available to download on Amazon. Our Discord moderator Vin reviewed all the authors but she can't read everything so read the reviews if you want to ensure their spice, violence, etc. content level matches what you want. The KM Shea newsletter voted to decide my contribution to this list (the Timeless Fairy Tales books 10-11) with the bonus addition of The Luckless from my A.M. Sohma pen name!

Clean Fairytale Retelling Authors Books - If you love fairy tales you are going to LOVE this list! A fellow fairy tale author organized and reviewed all these authors to make sure they were truly "clean" and there is a fun variety of fairy tales represented including my Princess and Pea novella!

Second goodie, the final bonus audio short stories is live on my YouTube and you are going to love it!

When Nathaniel Priestley was narrating the King Arthur and Her Knights series I had him record a short story, On the Observations of Sir Kay, as well! (This short was previously only available in the first series three pack so you may not have ever heard it.) It's a great introduction to this series and Nathaniel's narration of the audiobook!

SheaCon Goodie Bag - July 19-21

The SheaCon event kicks off Friday, July 19th, which is also when the official "SheaCon goodie bag" will go live, and you don't need to attend the event to get the free stuff!

This year there will be a super special audio short story, a new coloring page, and lots of free books from multiple authors. Watch for a new blog post on July 19th with all the info.

SheaCon Event - July 19-21

SheaCon is a weekend of K.M. Shea themed fun held on a private discord server different from Kitty’s main server. There will be panels with Kitty and other authors as well as games and activities all weekend long. SheaCon 2024 will be on July 19th-21st US Central time. The link to the special Discord server where SheaCon is held will be posted the first day of the event on Kitty’s Discord server and on her Facebook group.
