Since October is here, it’s time to remind you of the existence of what is quite possibly my favorite short I’ve ever written: Trick Or Treat!

Trick or Treat is a Magical Beings’ Rehabilitation Center short story, so if you haven’t read about Morgan and her Chicago friends you’ll want to go finish that duology first! But Trick or Treat follows the adventure of Morgan as she attempts to teach her magical students the human tradition of–you guessed it–trick or treat!

As hinted at in the short story, I love autumn treats! I’m going to get together with my mom to mix up the dough for what we call our Pumpkin Cookies! (It’s a sugar cookie dough that we roll into a cylinder shape, then slice into circles, bake, and color with orange frosting!)

Do you have an autumn-themed goodies you like to make? Or are you the crafty type and instead you make cute crafts?

Thanks for reading, Champions, and enjoy the short!

Hello, Champions!

We’ve got more books with new covers. First up, Princess Ahira has a new ebook/paperback cover!

Princess Ahira: Amazon.com  |  All other Amazon Stores

I’m pretty stoked about this cover because it has a dragon on it, and Ahira is wearing Azmaveth’s colors! Woohoo for accuracy! This beautiful cover was created by Wesley Souza, the talented artist who also made the new Robyn Hood covers.

The King Arthur three packs and Endings also got new covers–these made by Trif Design, who made the complete series boxset cover, so now the whole series matches!

After going through some hassles with books and files, I decided to pull the individual novella titles of King Arthurs off of Amazon, so now the official series listing includes the first two three packs and Endings, and then of course we still have the complete series boxset. This was done more for a file-sanity reason, and because I’m way more likely to either put the complete series boxset on sale, or the first threepack on sale, so there wasn’t a point in having the novellas. (Particularly because no one was reading those versions anyway.)

Nothing has changed in the books, I just removed the original novellas and swapped it out for the three packs!

And finally one of my oldest series, The M.B.R.C., got a makeover for the individual books and the 3-pack! Now all of them match and the 3-pack has it’s own special image.

Natasha Snow–who also did my Hall of Blood and Mercy covers–recovered this series for me! I love the font she went with–and the colors! Random fact about the M.B.R.C. covers: since the series is set in Chicago I specifically asked Natasha to use the Chicago skyline for the background cityscape! It’s easiest to tell this if you look at the 3-pack cover, since the Willis Tower has such a prominent spot in the background. 🙂

And that’s everything for today! Thanks for reading, Champions, and have a lovely day!

Welcome to 2018, Champions! I hope 2017 ended nicely for you. Personally, I’m in the middle of a cleaning spree–I just deep cleaned my bathroom last night, and I have seen and smelled things no person should…

We have A LOT of free books and fun things happening this January, Enthroned is first up and will be free from 1/4 through 1/8. There’s a handful of others that I will make a specific post about in the future, but today we’re doing some basic housekeeping!

For starters, the Frog Princess freebies have been moved to the “Extras” page under the For Champions tab. (Pro tip: if you can’t find a freebie any more, it will for certain be found in the extras page. Sometimes I have to change links, and I don’t bother to update the old blog post links, just the extras page.

Speaking of which, the amazing Champion Chloe found a long lost Magical Beings Rehabilitation Center short, Taking Care of Business! You can click on the title for a link, but it has also been relocated to the freebies section as well. A big thank you to Chloe, who went over some of my most ancient blog posts to find it!

In other awesome-champion news, I have some fanart to share!

This lovely drawing was done by a Champion who wishes to be known as “Rakel-wanna-be!”

There’s a lot I love about this image–Elise herself, her uniform, her desk–but what really blows me away is the detail. That’s the Arcainian flag you see tucked behind the desk, and Elise’s much hated gold flute by her feet. (I laughed for several minutes when I saw that flute!) But the most perfect of all are the two love letters on the ground–one is from Falk and the other form Rune. Way to go, “Rakel-wanna-be”! You did an amazing job, and I’m so honored you chose to draw Elise!

That’s it for today! I’ll be back soon with the list of Free Books for January, and the cover reveal for Twelve Dancing Princesses. Until then, enjoy the new year, Champions.
