The day is finally here Champions! Crown of Shadows is finally available to purchase on Amazon or download and read through KU!

Crown of Shadows available

As usual I’m having my Book Launch Celebration/Thank You special, so when Crown of Shadows reaches approximately 100 reviews (that’s 100 reviews total including those on all Amazon stores and Goodreads) I’ll release a bonus companion short story! If you’ve read the Hall of Blood and Mercy series (and I really hope you have!) this bonus contains some special cameos from your favorite Drake family vampires!

A big thank you in advance to everyone who takes the time to leave an honest review. Reviews help me a lot because it’s the best way other interested readers can determine if my work is something they want to try out or not. There’s also certain kinds of advertising, like some free promotion websites, that have a minimum review requirement, and you Champions help me blow past those requirements!

As usual, I’m going to hold off on any blog posts that might have spoilers for a few days to give you some time to read the story! If you are looking for some fellow readers to spill the tea with, don’t worry, there are people waiting for you to join the discussion on Facebook and Discord !!

Here’s a fun quote image for you as a bonus:

Crown of Shadows Preorder

The fae of the Night Court are desperately searching for a new monarch to crown before the Court collapses.

I couldn’t care less.

I’ve done everything I can to bury my fae blood and embrace my human half. That changes when some fae nobles show up on my doorstep and announce that I’m the next Queen of the Night Court.

Becoming an unwilling fae queen? Check. Inheriting a terrible mess? Double check.

The Court is almost bankrupt, my citizens’ favorite hobby is backstabbing one another, and I don’t know who I can trust since someone keeps trying to assassinate me.

Speaking of assassins, I get introduced to the best in the business—a fae lord nicknamed the Wraith. His deadly profession means he fears no one. The only reason he doesn’t kill me on the spot is he’s also a member of the Night Court and the Court’s magic protects me. But that doesn’t prevent him from trading verbal barbs with me whenever we meet.

And if cat herding all these uncooperative fae and chatting with assassins wasn’t enough, I’m required to get married as part of some archaic Court law. This “queen” gig is the worst!

Supposedly I can choose anyone to marry, but with all the infighting I need someone who is neutral and won’t provoke more political power struggles.

So, why do I keep thinking of a certain assassin?

Before I go Champions I want to leave you with two quick tips:

  1. This book is about 50% longer than Magic Forged, so if you are planning a binge session make sure to schedule enough time!

  2. I’m going to be dropping quote images and snippets from the book in Facebook and Discord between now and when the November 20th, so if you are ok with some spoilers go and check them out!

I can’t wait to share this trilogy with you! I hope it makes you laugh! 😉

This brings us to the final Hall of Blood and Mercy themed post. Already I’ve begun writing my next manuscript (The Prince’s Bargain, Elves of Lessa #3 for those who are curious) but I’ve been getting a lot of questions from Champions wondering if I’ll ever return to Hazel and Killian’s world, or if I’ll ever revist these characters, so I thought I would do one last blog post.

Hall of Blood and Mercy is a trilogy, and I won’t be adding on any additional books because I feel like I’ve successfully told Hazel’s and Killian’s story. However!

I’ve fallen in love with their world, and just because I won’t add onto their trilogy doesn’t mean I don’t have any additional plans for a new trilogy! So I’m officially confirming that you can expect to see a new trilogy in this world–probably in mid to late summer 2021. The series will be about…

OOHHHHH, YES, I WENT THERE! The next trilogy will follow Leila and will focus on the Night Court and the chaos it’s been thrown into since the death of the previous Night Queen and her Consort.

The Paragon–and Aphrodite and Bagel the donkey, of course–will make an appearance in Leila’s series, and you’ll even get to see glimpses of Hazel and Killian as well!

But I won’t be writing this trilogy until after I write Fairy Tale Enchantress Book 4, Trial of Magic. And since the quick release worked so well for Hazel’s series, I plan to do the same for Leila’s series and again release all three books in under two months, which means it will be over a year before you get to follow Leila on her adventures.

Regardless, I hope you’re excited! Thanks for reading, Champions, and thank you for embracing this new story world. 😉
