Let's get ready to rock and roll, Champions, as we are about 9 days away from the release of the Order of Blood and Ruin, the final book in the Magic on Main Street trilogy! Many of you have been reading each book as it is released but others have been waiting until all three books are out before you start. Since there's been a lot of fun games and short stories as part of this series, I want to make sure all of you are "in the know" for all the fun stuff, so please enjoy this handy checklist!

Before you start the series (or book 3):

  1. I highly recommend you read the Hall of Blood & Mercy trilogy first if you have time. The Magic on Main Street trilogy is almost a direct sequel to the Hall of Blood and Mercy series and you will better catch the cameos and other references if you have recently read the Hall of Blood and Mercy series.

  2. Read the prequel short story: A Vampire Visit. In this story Killian (from Hall of Blood and Mercy) introduces you to the main hero of Magic on Main Street, and you quickly learn a lot more important facts about Killian Drake!

  3. Play a round of Old Maid and Go Fish. I know this sounds crazy but if you are familiar with the rules it will make some scenes in the books make more sense!

  4. Review the Magiford Series timeline so you understand how this new series fits with the other trilogies. Click here for the timeline.

  5. I have more suggestions for how to prepare for the new series, including a cool ASMR video I found, on this blog post.

Get the books:

Book 1 Goodies:

  1. Spot it! Cameo tracker (Hard Version): For this series we introduce a new game where you can use the tracking page provided in this blog post to catch each cameo you find from another Magiford series. This is the version of the tracker that only includes an image hint and doesn't list the name of the character or place.

  2. Spot it! Cameo tracker (Easy version): This version of the Cameo tracker includes the image hint + the name of the character/place so you can use it for hints if you get stuck.

  3. Read the bonus short story: Family Bonding  This bonus short story is a prequel to the series so it doesn't spoil any events from the books, but it gives you a closer look at Jade's background and the relationship she has with her family.

Book 2 Goodies:

  1. Spot it! Cameo tracker (Hard Version): There is a new tracking page for all the new cameos found in this book (any character or place that appeared in book # 1 doesn't appear on the book # 2 tracking page). Once again this is the hard version of the tracker so it only includes an image hint.

  2. Spot it! Cameo tracker (Easy Version): This is the version of the cameo tracker for book # 2 that includes the image hint + the name of the character/place.

  3. Read the bonus short story: Annoyed Eminence  This bonus short story features some of the most popular Drake vampires but it also has massive spoilers for book # 2!

Book 3 Goodies:

  1. Make your own book reading smoothie! The main character Jade eats a lot of smoothies so if you want to make one to enjoy while you are reading you can check out this Smoothie blog post for my personal tips, or see the recipes I list on my Magiford Recipes Pinterest board.

  2. We aren't doing a Spot it! cameo tracker for book # 3 because there aren't any new cameos to watch out for, but you will continue to see characters + places from the first two books appear again!

  3. There will be a new bonus short story released on this blog once The Order of Blood and Ruin reaches 100 reviews across Goodreads + Amazon. I can't wait to share this new short with you - you get to see a lot more characters other than Jade + Considine! The last thing to do to prepare for the new release? Get lots of sleep! This third book is looong, so if you're planning to read late into the night, start fortifying yourself now! And that's everything, Champions. Consider yourselves ready for The Order of Blood and Ruin!

Updated: Jun 24, 2024

As I'm sure many of you know, The Games of Enemies and Allies is available for preorder, and is releasing in a few days on January 12th! What's even more exciting, though is we finally have a description! (IMPORTANT: This description contains SPOILERS for book 1, Lies of Vampires and Slayers! If you haven't read it yet, you'll want to skip reading this description!) What else is coming this week? A new Spot It! tracker for book 2 is coming the day before the release day so you can watch for new cameos when reading. I'll also be publishing a new Book Spoilers blog post so you can discuss the book and all your theories with other Champions right here on the website. And I am once again going to be offering a bonus short story when we get 100 honest reviews across Goodreads + Amazon for The Games of Enemies and Allies (the Drake vampires star in the new bonus short story - I had so much fun writing it, and I can't wait for you to read it!). Thank you in advance for every Champion who leaves a review on Goodreads or Amazon, I really appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts with other readers. 😍 And a quick reminder that the third and final book in this trilogy will be released at the beginning of April. I know that is a bit of a wait so I wanted to warn you in case you were planning to read all three books at the same time.

Amazon.com | All other Amazon Stores At night they’re enemies. During the day they’re friends. Only one of them is aware of this… My stress levels skyrocketed after I discovered the deadly vampire who has taken over downtown is Considine Maledictus, one of the most powerful vampires alive. Now I’m even more reluctant to tangle with him, but he’s started showing up in the middle of my investigations, even if they’re outside his territory. I never know if he’s there to fight or to lend me some unexpected help. I don’t have time to ponder his weird behavior, because a group of local wizards are up to some shady practices. They’ve never been fond of the non-magical, but suddenly they’re popping up all over the city, “helping” humans. At least I can count on my vampire friend and next-door neighbor, Connor, for some laughs. Except…he’s been acting strange and is even more touchy-feely than usual these days. Regardless, I’m going to stay focused on protecting my city. I’m just not sure if I should be more concerned about the wizards, or the chaotic vampire who swaps from friend to foe on a nightly basis. The Games of Enemies and Allies is the second book in the Magic on Main Street urban fantasy trilogy, and is part of the Magiford Supernatural City world. This series is packed with humor, magical fights, and a sweet, slow burn romance between a slayer who battles social anxiety and a vampire who is sick of his immortality.

Greetings, Champions, are you ready for Jade's trilogy, Magic on Main Street? I've been picturing the heroine + hero dynamics for this series for years and I'm excited for you to finally meet them in a few weeks. We've got the pre-order link--which you can see below--but since we still have time before The Lies of Vampires and Slayers launches on December 15th here's some ideas of what you might want to do to prepare during the wait!

Lies of Vampires and Slayers

Warning! The following blog post will have a few tiny spoilers--so if you're the kind of reader who prefers to go into a series totally blind, you might want to skip reading this post! Otherwise, read on!

Things to do:

  1. Join discord, or the Facebook Group: Already both groups are counting down until release day, but the big reason I suggest joining is for the talk that will explode in both groups after The Lies of Vampires and Slayers goes live!

  2. If you really want to go down rabbit holes with wild theories, or maybe book themed memes Discord is the place for you!

  3. If enjoy more casual chit chat and want to see what parts of book#1 everyone liked, and talk about your favorite characters, the Facebook Group is where you want to go!

  4. Also, this year I'll continue the tradition of posting a spoiler blog post for you blog post commenters to talk on, too! (The blog post will go live on release day.)

  5. Play a round of Old Maid and Go Fish with your friends or family. (I know this is a really weird thing to suggest, but trust me if you have recently played both these games (so you know the rules) it will be helpful!)

  6. Take the "Which Supernatural Are You" quiz! It hasn't received any updates since the previous series, Gate of Myth and Power, went live but if you don't remember what answer you got last time you better double check.

What to read:

  1. Hall of Blood & Mercy trilogy: In some ways this new series, Magic on Main Street, is almost a direct sequel to the Hall of Blood and Mercy series. Reading the Hall of Blood and Mercy trilogy before jumping into Magic on Main Street is not technically required, but it will be so much more enjoyable if you do (example: If you've read it recently, you'll be able to recognize all the Drakes who make appearances).

  2. The other Magiford trilogies: This new series takes place after the events of Court of Midnight and Deception and at the same time as Pack of Dawn and Destiny. I've hidden a lot of fun cameos so it would be helpful to re-read the other Magiford books before you start this series if you want to be able to spot all the cameos, but it won't impact anything important.

  3. The prequel short story: A Vampire Visit: In this story Killian introduces you to the main hero of Magic on Main Street, and you quickly learn a lot more important facts about Killian Drake!

  4. The Magiford Supernatural City worldbuilding info blog post for Vampires. (There isn't a blog post for Vampire Slayers - I don't know yet if I will have time to write one!)

Book Reading Fun:

Do you want to theme your reading time? Then I'd suggest having these things on hand...

  1. Your favorite smoothie. (Jade drinks a lot of smoothies - you'll find out why in the book!) Do you have a favorite flavor? I'd love for you to share it with me on social media after the launch!

  2. Ambience music: If you like having ambience sounds or music on in the background while you read, or maybe if you want to listen to ambience music ahead of time to prepare, I highly recommend this Youtube clip since Jade spends a lot more time in the city then the previous Magiford heroines.

Book Party Fun:

There will be some fun interactions on Discord and Facebook that you'll want to watch for!

  1. Discord: The moderators on Discord have created a special character appearance tracker so you can track all the Magiford character cameos. Can you spot them all? (I will share this on the website once the book releases!)

  2. Facebook: During the upcoming holiday season track down a favorite family recipe you don't mind sharing with the community. Bonus points if the recipe card is confusing and doesn't have all the instructions! Reminder that The Lies of Vampires and Slayers will launch on December 15th, so mark your calendars! Thanks for reading, Champions, and have a lovely week!
